    Paris After Dark

    Paris After Dark captures the Eiffel Tower as Paris transforms into a city of light. Against the deep blue night, the tower takes on a warm, almost golden glow.

    The work is painted entirely in oils on a 40 × 50 cm canvas using a direct wet-on-wet technique. Colours are applied into and over still-wet paint, allowing them to blend naturally and creating the characteristic spontaneous and expressive surface.

    The richly decorated golden frame is handmade by Rick Triest and was conceived as part of the artwork itself. Painting and frame together form one original work.

    Paintings by Rick Triest are signed and provided with a handmade wax seal. Rick's works are also finished with a layer of varnish.
