Amsterdam – Westertoren | Mixed Media Art Edition | Rick Triest

An Amsterdam classic, reimagined

The Amsterdam Signature Gold Series is one of Rick Triest’s most recognizable collections. For years, the city’s characteristic canal houses, historic bridges, and the iconic Westertoren have served as the backdrop for his expressive paintings of Amsterdam.

For this new Mixed Media Art Edition, Rick revisits one of his signature compositions. The original painting serves as the foundation for a contemporary interpretation, blending his distinctive artistic style with new materials and techniques.

From original painting to Mixed Media Art Edition

The original work is built from multiple layers of acrylic paint, expressive brushstrokes, and the signature gold linework that has become a hallmark of Rick Triest’s style.

This existing composition is meticulously digitized to serve as the basis for a high-quality reproduction on panel.

Each piece is then individually finished by hand. The characteristic gold lines are reapplied in relief and enhanced with accents of genuine gold leaf.

A transparent, high-gloss epoxy finish gives the artwork a deep, glass-like appearance, imbuing the blue of the Amsterdam sky, the warm tones of the facades, and the golden details with a remarkable sense of depth.

A familiar signature, reimagined

What began as an original painting on canvas finds a second life in this edition.

While the composition remains true to the original Amsterdam Signature Gold Series, the combination of hand-finishing, gold relief, and epoxy creates an entirely new aesthetic.

Because the final details are applied by hand to each individual piece, no two versions are exactly alike.
